A mountain town and winter sports resort, Les Allues is located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of the Savoie department. A listed tourist resort, it comprises thirteen villages clustered around Méribel and Méribel-Mottaret, two ski resorts in the Trois Vallées ski area. It is located in the Tarentaise Valley, thirty kilometers from Albertville and about fifty kilometers from Chambéry.
Les Allues is best known for its high-end winter sports resorts, which delight fans of snow sports and high-altitude sports. Located in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, the Savoyard commune also benefits from a preserved environment, ideal for hiking and exploring the local flora and fauna. The commune has also been awarded three flowers in the French Flowery Towns and Villages competition.
Lovers of gastronomy and good products will find what they are looking for in Les Allues, as the town is part of the appellation zone allowing the production of Beaufort, a cow's milk cheese, and also offers its Allues goat's cheese.
